Reports
Commissioner Cliff Cormier
:
Ensure paperwork and sign ups in bars, big message on
web site, a-league and b-league schedules had errors, sent Rick Evans a b-league
schedule with example of printable schedule, schedule the changing of the
password, edited updates for the rules and incorporated the html page, finished
out 3-man league and did pay outs, determined the funds, SCCDA took in $80 +9
donations from 3-man and paid out bunches. Paid bills, the trophy mess up is
being covered by Crestor even though it wasn't totally their fault, Fixed
broken links on web site.
President Scott Anderson
:
Nothing.
Secretary/Treasurer Nici Smith
:
Went to captain's meeting, took in lots of money, wrote out
the rules, didn't write out the letter, collected more money.
Statistician Fred Murphy
:
Schedules up, problem: need to extend out the A-League
schedule due to huge break between A and B league. As of now, set schedule.
Web Supervisor Rick Evans
:
Got rosters up as best as peoples handwriting could allow.
Public Relations Representative Keith
Albertson :
Nothing.
A League Representative Roger
Champieux :
Collecting money.
Unfinished Business
Who's paid and who's not?
Fred: Cross check reports to make sure only the people who pay play.
Orientation Packets
What should be in the packets: new copy of the rules, score sheets for whole season, schedules, contact sheet, and sheet of rosters everything except roster sheets will be done by tomorrow meet 6:00 poet and patriot to assemble packets and break to distribute.
Bank Account Info
Drop keith and add scott, get printed ledgers of old accounts, start new account.
First Week's Stats
Issues with the first weeks stats getting posted. It was rough trying to negotiate so many new people on the board.
Extra Unsed Time for A-League
And what to do with it... B-League ends Dec 4 A league
ends sep 30, this means we push the banquet towards Christmas or January, so
extending A-League season out with play offs. In order to be fair to the bars
who have paid a bunch of money to have league play at their venues,
Cliff's
suggestion: for third match in all games go to a different venue, and use a
different method for determining choice by coin flipping.
Another option:
play off format, or tournament set up,
Any dissent to this ... no neural
site ... we'll assign the sites and rotate to make it fair to the bars figuring
out which bars get the extra games: give poet and 1007 less but then have then
host the tournaments, thus making it fair in terms of $ paid.
All Stars and Singles Champs Cup
Where to have these events: the debate is how to make
sure every bar that can host an event gets a fair share of the event business,
taking into consideration how many team they pay for. Thus a bar with 3 teams
gets more event consideration than one with only 1 team. Results of the
discussion:
All Star Locations
Singles Locations
Banquet
The banquet could be held at Bocci's Cellar or Britannia Arms. There was much discussion about the merits of using Bocci's Cellar as the Banquet location. The two key points were the instances in the past where they have not followed through on a promise of the use of their space and the possibly more agreed upon point that a Banquet in a semi-outdoor location during the winter months might not be so hot...
New Business
Letter to Pubs
Creating a letter to the Pubs trying to get feedback about their experiences with our league. Since there is no really active Pub Rep this season, a letter asking for responses on certain subjects might be a good way to get owners input.
Rules violations
There have been complaints that some players are chronically violating the chalk line, failing to call their shots, and possible other forms of misconduct. No specific reports or formal complaints have been filed, rather everyone is encouraged to be a little more vigilant in enforcing and complying with the rules of play.
