NEW BUSINESS:

1. Bulls vs. Young Guns Forfeit.
Jimmy Wells represented the Bocci's Bulls team. The Young Guns did not send a representative.
Abel reads Matt Roberts' e-mail sent the night of the match which never requested a reschedule or an appeal.
It is discussed that Matt never made any attempt to appeal the forfeit.

Abel motions the forfeit be allowed to stand.
Roger seconds.
Danyel, Roger, Rob, Abel & Keith approve.
Julie & Charlie abstain.
Motions passes.
2. Cricketeers vs. In The Pink Forfeit appeal.
Jon Barbieri represents the Cricketeers as Bobby Bishop's proxy.
Max Overstrom-Coleman represents In the Pink.
Jon- The Cricketeers were not notified of In the Pink's desire to reschedule until six hours before the match.
In the Pink never gave reasons for two of their missing players in Max's subsequent e-mails.
The Cricketeers would prefer not to have to reschedule.
Max- Berkeley (work) and Jon (girlfriend's post-op caretaking) were already not going to be at the match.
Max received a call from K.C. Tuesday afternoon informing him he could not make it back to Santa Cruz because he was trapped by snow-closed roads in Lake Tahoe.
In the Pink has already played three matches short-handed this season and is not adverse to playing that way again.
Max did not foresee K.C.'s predicament and would like the 'Act of God' consideration in rescheduling the match.

Abel motions that should a reschedule be voted on by the board, then Bobby Bishop should be able to pick the time and date of the match.
Roger seconds.
Julie, Danyel, Roger, Rob, Charlie & Abel in favor.
Keith abstains.
Motion passes.

Roger motions to reschedule the match.
Abel seconds.
Julie, Roger, Rob, Danyel & Abel in favor.
Charlie opposed.
Keith abstains.
Motion passes.

3. Sharks vs. Poetic Justice Forfeit appeal.
The Board is presented with a copy of Frank Bauerle's e-mail concerning his views and request for letting the forfeit stand.

Frank states he never agreed to reschedule, claims Abel was at fault for not showing up to the match, told his players not to show up to the match, told Scooby he would be there and tried to force Frank to replay the match on a date of Abel's choosing.

Abel reads the e-mail communications between himself and Frank Bauerle dated Thursday, March 16th through Wednesday, March 22nd.

The e-mails show Abel made a request for a reschedule in time, informed Frank Poetic Justice would play on the date Frank chose, could not field a team of at least three players and made it clear he and Poetic Justice would not be present at the Poet for their scheduled match, hours before the match was to be played which Frank read and responded to.
Abel says he spoke with Keith and Charlie on the Monday prior the match to inform them of his inability to field a team, Frank's refusal to reschedule and Abel's intent to appeal.
Abel states he could not be at the Poet & Patriot on Wednesday night, he communicated this to Frank and then went to his son's Parent/Teacher conference at 3:00 p.m. that Wednesday and did not return to Santa Cruz until after 9:30 p.m.
Abel denies ever telling Scooby he was on his way to the Poet as Frank claims.

Charlie states he does not feel 'any Captain' should be forced to reschedule if they don't want to. He believes the forfeit should stand.
Abel retorts that is why the appeal clause is in the rules. Captains have the choice to say no and Captains have the right to appeal. It is then up to the Board to figure out how to decide.

Roger states he would like to see a rule change which would not let a team deny a reschedule unless they could not field at least four players.

Matt Walden, representing the BullKings, states he feels Poetic Justice should be given a reschedule because they followed the rules and it is the fair and sportsmanlike to do.

Abel states he thinks the rule should also read that a team cannot request a reschedule unless they cannot field at least three players.

Jimmy Wells, representing the Bulls, feels teams should try to play a match whenever possible.

Max Overstrom-Coleman, representing In The Pink, states the reason we are in this League is to 'play darts'.

Julie motions to reschedule the match.
Rob seconds.
Rob, Roger, Danyel, Julie & Keith approve.
Charlie opposes.
Abel abstains.
Motion passes.

Roger motions the match be rescheduled for Wednesday, April 26th @ 7:00 p.m. @ the Poet & Patriot, the week following the last "A" League match.
Keith seconds.
Julie, Roger, Rob, Keith & Danyel approve.
Charlie opposes.
Abel abstains.
Motions passes.

4. Match Count for a Player accepting a forfeit.
Julie asks if a person who must take a forfeit-win in a match played against a short-handed team still receives credit for a match played to allow them to qualify for Tournaments.
Abel responds that the Darts Program automatically gives that person a match played credit.

5. Banquet Location & Date.
The Britannia Arms is in line for the next banquet.

Keith will approach them about holding this function for the League.
Abel will draft a letter to the Britannia Arms, e-mail it to the other board members for approval and then Keith will deliver it.

The banquet date is set for Saturday, June 3rd at 12:00 p.m.

6. 'Singles' Championship Locations & Dates.
The 'Singles' Championships are scheduled for Tuesday, May 2nd @ 7:00 p.m. for "B" League and Wednesday, May 3rd @ 7:00 p.m. for "A" League.

The "B" League Tournament will be held at the 1007.

The "A" League Tournament will be held at Bocci's Cellar.

7. New Season Date.
The SCCDA Summer Season will begin on Tuesday, July 11th for the "B" League and Wednesday, July 12th for the "A" League.

Sign-ups will probably be held the last week of June.

8. 3-Man League.
Plans for another 3-Man League are in the making.
It is being considered as to whether to play during our next break which will go from Tuesday, May 9th until Wednesday, July 5th.

Abel is hoping to have a Tuesday night Tournament at the Poet & Patriot and a Wednesday night Tournament at the 1007 if it is determined there will be 3-Man in the next off-season.

3-Man will be played during the break in November and December on Tuesday and Wednesday as exampled above.

Meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
