8. Half-Time rules/Abel’s formal complaint against Privateers

OLD BUSINESS:
1. No old business was discussed. The secretary arrived late to the meeting which was all ready in progress.

NEW BUSINESS:
1. Discussion of transfer fees at length.
Decided the Rule Book covers this subject adequately.

2. Rule book revamping. Developing a committee made up of league members.
As discussed at last weeks meeting a committee will be developed to revamp the rules and bylaws.
By unanimous vote Charlie McClain (President) will head the committee. It was decided to include 7-8 dart league members.

3. Board member roles. Very gray areas. Need to clarify.
Still gray and will be discussed at next meeting.

4. Banquet eligibility
There are two establishments we consider eligible for holding the banquet at the end of the summer season due to not holding a banquet recently and weather considerations.
Charlie O’s
Britannia Arms.
We will provide our needs to them and then await quotes. To be determined at next meeting.
Secretary/Treasurer will provide the $ amount available for spending on the banquet.

5. All-Star Tournaments
Discussion ensued about where to have the all-star matches.
Suggestions were 1007, the Poet and Patriot and Bocci Cellar. These three venues have ample space to provide the number of dart boards necessary for the tournament.
The league is also willing to provide a meal to the qualified members of the all-star tournament. An amount of $50.00 will be allocated per tournament.
The board voted unanimously to have the top two players from each B-League team to compete in the all-star match.
It is decided to have the B-league tournament a 1007. It is the suggestion so far to provide pizza to the qualified players. The tournament will be held October 11th at 12:00 noon. It is decided to have the A-League tournament at Bocci Cellar on October 11th at 12:00 noon. If dart meal specials are to be provided on that day each qualifying member will be given the opportunity to purchase one.

6. Three Dart Knights
Due to the conflicts arising from Rick Silva and his inability to keep a team together the board decided to not allow Rick Silva to captain a team for the completion of this season as well as next season.
He is, however, welcome to play on a team.
Jon Barbieri is designated to write a letter, to be sent by email, to Rick informing him of our decision. Rick has all ready, in email transcripts, agreed to forgo a team this season due to difficulties in keeping a team together.

7. T-Shirts
Since no suggestions, replies, comments were received by Anja from any members of the league the board decided to go ahead with the current design presented by Anja at the last board meeting.
Anja will get moving on the T-shirts, aiming for completion by the all-star matches. The current cost to print 100 count of Hanes Beefy t’s front and back is $1200.00.
The T-shirts will be part of a league fundraising idea.

8. Half-Time rules/Poetic Justice’s formal complaint against Privateers
Poetic Justice filed a formal complaint against the Privateers with one of the complaints being they took a 48 minute half-time break during their match.
Their captain, (Abel Romero), said that the opposing captain (Bobby Bishop) took an unsportsmanlike attitude toward him when he asked them to not participate in a game of boxes in lieu of starting the second half in a timely fashion.
A copy of the full complaint has been sent to all captains possible, via e-mail and is available upon request.
Abel stated he confronted both Keith Albertson (Commissioner) and Cliff Cormier (A-league Rep) the night of the match, prior to the game of boxes, to prevent the problem from growing.
They apparently ignored the protest complaint.
The board voted on penalizing the Privateers one game to be taken from their overall standings for unsportsmanlike conduct and disregard for match protocol.
4 Ayes I abstain
One game was removed from the Privateers win column and added to their loss column.

9. The new "B" League schedule.
"B" League schedule is up and running.

10. Special appearance: Roger Champieux’s fundraising idea
Roger would like to have a dart competition with a mandatory buy-in of $5.00.
This is contingent on if he can get donations of dart supplies from a friend. These donated supplies would become prizes at the tournament. Roger will present the donated items at next months meeting for the board to see.
The tournament would be much like the banquet tournament linking together A and B league members in either a blind draw doubles or a singles double elimination.
Some ideas for the use of the money raised:
1) Send members to play tournaments in other areas.
2) Initiate friendship tournaments in other counties. Renting vans to transport members.
3) All money raised from this fundraiser will go into a separate bank account.
4) Other suggestions are requested and would be appreciated.

Next weeks topics of discussion. (but not limited to)

1. All-Star Tournaments.
2. Banquet location.
3. Board member roles. Very gray areas. Need to clarify.
4. Rule book committee.
5. T-Shirts.

Meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
