Dear SCCDA members, Happy New Year!

We currently host our website through Cruzio in Santa Cruz, but plan to move to another internet service provider, most likely before the start of the summer season. 

The main reasons we plan to move away from Cruzio are:

• cost - Cruzio is at least twice the cost of much better service providers
• functionality - support for the latest software is poor and limits what we can do 
• reliability - its not as reliable as it should be
• services offered - no web access stats, limited storage, limited bandwidth, etc.

The move to a new service provider will give us the opportunity to move away from legacy pages and features on the website and consolidate functionality rather than continue with separate pieces like the editorials, mailing lists and in-line frames (which do cause some problems for members). We also will have an opportunity to think about new features and here we would like to get your input. Some initial thoughts board members have suggested are:

• player pages, where you can see all stats on a player since they started playing
• more organized darts forums, where members can discuss darts related topics with other darts enthusiasts
• RSS feeds to get the latest results through your web browser, email client or smart phone
• access to darts stats and schedules through internet enabled mobile devices
• automatic SMS messaging of result updates you may be interested in
• integration with websites like Facebook
